Course Description

This training is offered only to members of the NB Association of Municipal Administrators as part of the Municipal Management Training Program.

This training is offered in person at the Moncton campus.

This two-part workshop will help you learn more about climate change and municipal emergency preparedness in New Brunswick. You'll come away better prepared to help your municipality prepare for these eventualities in an informed way.

Part 1

Climate change and adaptation in New Brunswick: Preparing for the future

Climate change is becoming increasingly real around the world, and New Brunswick is no exception. It is therefore important to understand the risks and vulnerabilities that could arise in our communities, to put adaptation plans in place for local governments, and to equip ourselves to face these challenges. In addition, during this workshop, we will invite you to explore climate change guidelines, as well as provincial and federal funding programs.

Part 2

Introduction to emergency measures: Drawing up a plan for effective emergency response
