Course Description

This training is offered only to members of the NB Association of Municipal Administrators as part of the Municipal Management Training Program.

Municipalities operate in an environment where public conversation takes place in real time, where a social media post can trigger instant media pressure, and where cyberbullying is becoming increasingly targeted. In this context, municipal decision-makers must not only master the principles of public relations, reputation management, and crisis management, but also navigate communication on social media.

The main objectives of this training are:

  • To raise participants' awareness of the crisis risks threatening organizations on social media.
  • To provide the tools needed to effectively manage these situations.
  • To encourage the adoption of best practices in order to minimize risks and be better prepared.

Participants will leave with practical, reusable tools that will enable them to anticipate issues, protect their municipality's reputation, respond confidently in times of crisis, and strengthen the relationship of trust with their citizens.
